POLICE believe a spate of rooftop burglaries in Darlington could be linked.
Two premises in the town were broken into yesterday morning after several burglaries earlier in the week. The culprits got into all of the properties via the roof.
Motorbike equipment, including leathers and helmets, were taken from BGB Motorcycles, in Banks Road, when burglars struck at about 12.20am.
The Total Fina garage, in Grange Road, had a large quantity of cigarettes and CDs stolen at about 3.20am.
Inspector Billy Hugill, from Darlington police, said: "There have been a number of commercial rooftop jobs. We can't definitely link them, but we can't rule out the possibility of a link either.
"We are asking people to be extra vigilant and alert us if they see anyone hanging around premises looking suspicious. We will be more than happy to come and check it out."
Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call police on (01325) 467681.
