Penny Boler wanted her mother to look pretty in pink instead of her usual black leathers - so she called the Makeover Mum hotline.
The result of mother Doreen's new look can be seen in the Tyne Tees Television programme tomorrow at 5.45pm.
Twelve-year-old Penny joined her mother on a £1,000 spending spree at the MetroCentre, Gateshead, to find a new look for Mrs Boler, of Sacriston,County Durham.
"I'm a motorbike fanatic who loves black," she said. "I was gobsmacked when the producer of Makeover Mum rang. They said my daughter had put my name forward.
"It was her way of cheering me up because I'd had a bad year. I had no problem doing it. I was game for a laugh.
"I'm a biker and normally I'm in black leathers. I don't dress up. Penny wanted to see me in pink."
Mrs Boler even had her dark hair coloured pink as part of the makeover for the TV programme.
Penny received help in changing her mother's look from style expert Glen Campbell, hair consultant Tony Gallagher and make-up artist Mel Scott.
Her efforts to makeover her mother were shortlived as Mrs Boler said she would be returning to wearing black.
"Penny isn't impressed but she has pinched half the clothes I bought and wears them herself," she said.
