A North-East woman is to walk along Hadrian's Wall to raise money for an animal charity.
Jane Weeks is appealing for support from animal lovers, as she must raise £350 in sponsorship before she can start the challenge for the veterinary charity PDSA.
She is a veterinary surgeon at Gateshead PDSA PetAid hospital, which provides free veterinary treatment to the sick and injured pets of people who cannot afford private veterinary fees.
Ms Weeks, a vet for a number of years and who has worked at the animal hospital for 18 months, said: "I'm delighted to be taking up this challenge of a lifetime and hope PDSA supporters and animal lovers will support my trek and make a donation."
The challenge consists of a 35-mile trek starting at Lanercost Priory, followed by a two-day walk along the remaining sections of Hadrian's Wall that cut through Northumberland National Park.
People wishing to sponsor Jane can send a cheque for her attention, made payable to PDSA to Stoneygate Lane, Felling, Gateshead NE10 OLX.
Places are still available to join Jane on the Hadrian's Wall Trek.
