Darlington branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) has named The Quaker, in Mechanics' Yard, as Champion Pub of the Year.
It is the fourth time in five years that the real ale pub has taken the award.
The event coincides with Steve Metcalfe and Lynda Harland's second anniversary in charge.
Ian Jackson, branch chairman of Camra, said: "There are 200 pubs in and around Darlington eligible for this award, so for the Quaker to be voted top pub by local Camra members yet again is a great achievement."
The country pub category was won for the third consecutive year by the The Crown at Manfield
