VOLUNTEERS are to take part in an event to show how their efforts help to improve life for many people in their community.
Men and women who do unpaid work for a number of organisations will join forces for the event in Witham Hall, Barnard Castle, tomorrow.
They hope to persuade some others to give up part of their spare time to assist a variety of projects for all ages in Teesdale.
The event, from 10am to 2pm, is an interactive showcase highlighting the difference that volunteers and community organisations are making in the dale.
It is being promoted by 2D, a voluntary services group, which says many men and women can gain benefits themselves by volunteering to help others.
