A FUN dog show raised about £1,000 for charity yesterday.
The Scrufts event at Walworth Castle, near Darlington, saw 30 dogs and their owners taking part in a variety of fun classes, including the dog with the waggiest tail, a fun obedience class and fancy dress, to raise money for Butterwick Hospices.
The winners of the fancy dress were Stephanie Leighton with Tia, a lurcher-cross, who were dressed as the fairy from the film Moulin Rouge.
There was also a family fun-day, with Tae kwondo displays, a photographic competition, crafts stalls, fairground rides, hobby horse racing and stocks.
Organiser Jackie Leighton said: "It has been marvellous. All the money raised will go to Butterwick Children's Hospice and the adult hospice at Bishop Auckland."
