A COLLEGE will stage a musical put together with just 24 hours of rehearsals.
The show at Northallerton College, which will feature professional musicians, is being billed as the 24-hour Musical Challenge.
Based on the Little Shop of Horrors, it will be staged at 7pm on Sunday, July 4.
Dance and drama teacher Pam Bayston said: "I usually have a whole year to rehearse a show. Getting this ready in 24 hours is a challenge, like trying to prove Rome was built in a day.
"Of course, some performers will be given lines to learn several days beforehand and others will get the chance to think about things like props and staging problems, but the rehearsal work will be done in 24 hours of waking time."
Ex-students Paul Phillips, the producer-designer, and Mark Place, the arranger and musical director, will lead the project and the company will come together on the evening of Friday, July 2.
