VOLUNTARY and community groups in the Sedgefield borough are to be given a say on future services.
County Durham's Council for Voluntary Services (CVS) Network has been commissioned by Government Office North East to review the provision of support to community and voluntary groups.
On Friday next week, the CVS is inviting volunteers to an event at Mainsforth Community Centre, Ferryhill Station, between 10am and 2pm, to discuss what support is needed for the future.
Services that have been requested so far include legal advice on how to gain charitable status and how to manage a community centre. The event is one of seven being held throughout County Durham. All information gathered at the meetings will be presented at a county-wide event next month.
One Voice Network, which is co-ordinating the events, is urging anyone interested in attending to get in touch with the CVS to book a place.
Clive Smithers, director, said: "These are really valuable events and a chance for groups, particularly small ones, to have their say on services which could safeguard their future.''
Anyone wanting to book places for the event, at Mainsforth Community centre, is asked to contact (01325) 313930.
