THE boss of rail infrastructure operator Network Rail is in line for a six-figure bonus, despite the company failing to hit all of its performance targets.
Chief executive John Armitt is expected to receive £112,320, while deputy chief executive Iain Coucher will receive £99,840, representing 24 per cent of their salaries,
The group's 15,000 staff other than the executive directors will receive bonuses of about £600, a spokesman said.
The rises were awarded despite Network Rail's failure to meet its target for train punctuality during 2003/2004.
While the group hit targets for cost savings and condition of infrastructure, it only achieved a seven per cent reduction in delays, against a target of ten per cent, in the year to March 31.
