Durham Coast League U15: Seaham Park posted the highest score of the night when they reached 124 for three at home to Peterlee, writes Malcolm Pratt.
Darren Sutherland was in excellent form and he made more than half his team's total contributing 65 while for Peterlee, Oliver claimed two of three wickets to fall for just eight runs.
In reply Peterlee ended with 100 for seven on the board with most of the runs coming from Malt (40) and Laidler (24). Michael Jordison had a good night with the ball for Seaham Park capturing four wickets for 14 runs.
Houghton had 46 runs to spare in their game with Boldon CA who were pegged to 59 all out as Richard Adamson took three wickets for seven runs in three overs, Luke O'Neill two for five and Ross Bainbridge two for nine.
Batting first Houghton reached 105 for two with James Miller hitting nine boundaries in an undefeated 60. Shaun Hauxwell added 29 with one six and three fours while for Boldon CA Purvis had the best figures of two for 16 in four overs.
Bill Quay were sent back for just 47 replying to the Dawdon total of 91 for seven. Craig Scurr claimed three wickets for six runs in two overs, Anthony Watson had two for 15 from the four overs he delivered and Liam Gustard was also among the wickets with two for four in two overs.
When they batted first Dawdon had Philip Bagley as top scorer and his 26 included two boundaries. Gilmore, Dunn and Milligan all took two wickets in the Bill Quay attack.
Castle Eden defeated Easington by eight wickets when their target was 84. Jonathan Brown finished undefeated on 31 and John Malcolm carried his bat for 19.
When they made first use of the wicket Easington realised 83 for nine which included a top scoring 16 by Edwards. Callum Harding picked up two wickets for 19 runs and Craig Thirlaway two for eight, the two youngsters each bowling four overs.
Federation Special Durham Senior League U18
Ben Embleton led Burnmoor to a match-winning 95 for four in the local derby with Philadelphia, writes MALCOLM PRATT.
The youngster contributed 63 to his side's total of 95 for four and replying Phili managed only 93 for seven which included 41 by Thomas Raine.
Richard Smith captured three wickets for 15 runs and Seaham Harbour were pegged to 71 for nine in their game at Gateshead Fell who won by eight wickets when Alex Strange carried his bat for 38.
Scott Borthwick made the highest score, 32, as Eppleton reached 68 for three at Whitburn, but it was the home side who won when they lost just one wicket. Peter Marshall carried his bat for 31 in the Whitburn total of 70 for one.
The runs flowed at Boldon where Chester-le-Street had just nine runs to spare. Batting first the Cestrians made the formidable total of 141 for three mainly as a result of the efforts of John Coxon with 67 and Martin Stephenson (52). Boldon made a positive response and when their 20 overs were up had reached 132 for one. Richard Potter scored 43 before being dismissed and Stephen Lamb ended undefeated on 55.
Chris Nichol (43) and Bobby Scorer (32) enabled South Shields to realise 102 for five in their game with Hetton Lyons at Wood Terrace. Brown took two for 28 in five overs for the Lyons who ended on 77 for six including 33 by Michael Walker. Chris Nichol claimed three wickets for 24 runs in six overs and Kris McShane had figures of three for 16 from the four overs he delivered in the Shields attack.
South Hetton were comfortable winners at Felling.
Wear Valley Sunday League
West Auckland Blacksmith's Arms entertained Shildon Timothy Hackworth and batted first, making 109 all out in their twenty overs. Mike Smith led the scoring with 28 and David Baglin contributed 21 not out. The visitors paced their scoring rate reply exactly as they hit the winning run in the final over with their leading scorers being Ian Longstaff and David Dunn.
Shildon ISA hit a resounding 137 against the visiting Coxhoe Cricketers Arms with Richie Pringle making 26, Tony Travers 25 and Richard Brown 23. The Cricketers never looked likely to reach their target and were dismissed for 85 with Mark Simmons leading their scoring with 25. Martin Hewlett with 2 for 8 and Alan Rowley with 2 for 7 did the damage with the ball.
