THE family of 14-year-old Josh Rainford-Blackett from Gilling West are celebrating his success at the British Riding Clubs national hunter trials held at Peterborough.
He and his young horse Moonshine Magic were placed individual ninth out of nearly 100 junior riders from all over the UK.
They qualified in October last year by winning the individual junior novice held at Newfield, Mickley.
Representing Northallerton Riding Club, both Josh and Magic made little of the national course and finished clear on a zero score.
The teenager is having a good season so far and has recently qualified for the Prince Phillip Cup zones as a member of the Hurworth Hunt Pony Club mounted games team.
Josh, who is trained by Eleanor Mercer, is now looking forward to taking Magic on their first one-day event later this month.
