Durham & District League: Wingate kept up the pressure as they strive to land the League Championship for the first time in their history.

Leeholme managed to stay at the top of the First Division after they only dropped two points to the visiting Addison Park, leaving them one ahead of Wingate, who lead third placed Coxhoe by three points.
Shotton moved two points clear of Mainsforth at the top of the Second Division after they only dropped two points at Langley Park. Nevilles Cross moved just one behind Mainsforth with their six points home win over King George V.
The top of the table clash in the Third Division turned out to be a one-sided affair as Vane Tempest beat the visiting second placed Trimdon by 100 shots to 59. The rink scores (with Vane Tempest names first) were G. Johnson 35 H. Mercer 10; A. Holmes 16 J. France 22; J. Clarke 19 J. Cranston 16; D. Bland 30 G. Dodds 11. This result leaves the Tempest five points clear of Wolsingham and Willington Spectrum, who both pulled off whitewash victories.

Vane Tempest lifted themselves from the foot of the table with a storming whitewash success over the visiting King George V, who slipped down to fifth spot in the table. Despite going down by two points at home, Newton Hall still hold on to the top spot in the table, whilst their conquerors from Addison Park move up to share third place with Coxhoe, two points behind the leaders. Nevilles Cross's big home win over Brandon takes them into second place, one point behind Newton Hall.

SWD Vets Double Pairs Knock Out
Durham City edged through to a First Round victory by just two points on their visit to Cockton Hill B in two very different rinks. In the first rink the home pair of Derek Ainley and Ray Stickells scored 10 against the 22 from Ray Pownley and Ces Davison for the visitors. The second rink almost brought Cockton Hill back into contention when Derek Meads and Jim Tague beat Norman Kitto and Mike Smith 19-9. However Durham City went through by 31 to 29.
