TEES Valley's very first balti curry restaurant has been so successful it has had to change its name.
The Balti House, in Yarm High Street, has been renamed the Raj Bari after a £130,000 refurbishment.
It was officially re-opened by Stockton's Mayor Jenny Beaumont, who also helped raise £250 for the Make A Child Smile charity.
The restaurant changed its named after the word balti became commonplace on Teesside and after consulting with customers.
Traditional Indian dancers entertained diners at the re-opening event on Wednesday.
A total of £170 was initially raised in a charity raffle but Councillor Beaumont took the microphone to raise more cash and £250 was taken.
