Durham Under 11s played their first competitive fixture of the season on Bank Holiday Monday at Woodall Spa in Lincolnshire and ran out winners by ten wickets.
Darlington's Jack Vickerman won the toss and inserted the home side who started steadily until Blaydon's Phil Miller and Phil Smith entered the fray to get rid of both Lincolnshire openers.
Darlington's James Dobson then helped Miller get his second wicket with a good catch behind the stumps before Miller took his third wicket with a clean bowled delivery.
Vickerman brought himself into the attack with his leg spin and his Darlington partnership with Dobson was soon working effectively with a smart piece of stumping by Dobson.
Little resistance was offered by the home side and they were eventually dismissed for 110 after 32 overs.
Miller ended with 3 for 9, Phil Smith had 2 for 16 and Vickerman finished with 2 for 13. Gaff, Greenwell and Higgins also took a wicket a piece for Durham.
Miller and Vickerman then batted superbly to see Durham home to a 10 wicket win from 30 overs. Miller hit a splendid 58 with Vickerman assisting with 35.
Durham play hosts to Cumbria at Leadgate today starting 11.30 am and travel to Guiseley on Tuesday June 8 to face a strong and determined Yorkshire side.
