Week five started with Oak Lodge keeping up their unbeaten record by winning away at Marne CC. Oak Lodge won with two members in their top eight scoring only 16s.
Top shot for the night were John Garside and Tony Masters with 23s. The final score ended up 157 to 155, and Oak Lodge increased their lead to two pts.
Urlay Nook had a comfortable home win 162 to 153 over Fox Hall. John Hutchinson, Captain of Urlay Nook, was top shot with a 23. This result moved Urlay Nook up to 2nd position. Stokesley were upended by the tribe from Thimbleby. Over 80 competitors took part and Thimbleby won by two birds 184 to 182. A perfect score from Tom Andrew for Thimbleby and his first winners trophy for the season.
Great Smeaton scored a second sucessive home win of the season with a 172 to 161 victory over Spennymoor. Great Smeaton's Paul Foster scored a maximum 25 ex 25. The carvery meal at The Comet afterwards was to be commended.
Oak Lodge's John Garside 114 ex 125, holds a three point lead over Ian Hutchinson and Paul Foster to lead AA Class. Kelvin Young leads A Class with 106 pts. Team Captain of THimbleby, Peter Kell leads B Class with 89 clays. Andrew Carter is three points in the lead in C Class. Jeremy Bird after only five weeks, looks a clear leader of the Colts class with 101 pts. S Jackson has climbed this week to top position in the leaders with a score of 78. Finally, Bill Stockdale has taken the lead over Arthur Foster in the veterans class.
