Having won three out of their last four games Chester were favourites to win this tie on Saturday and did not disappoint at Ropery Lane.
Jonathon Taylor top scoring again with 32 not out. An excellent team performance saw the Cestrians win by 147 runs. Jonathan Davies 21 not out. Solid bowling from Taylor, Davies, Devon Phillips, Alan Herbert and Craig Stephenson.
Then Chester-le-Street Under 13s
continued their successful start in the league when they reached the final of the League Cup by beating Eppleton on Sunday. Excellent batting performances by Craig Stephenson and Alan Herbert together with a great team effort in the field earned Cestrians their place with Jonathon Taylor taking two for seven in four overs.
