PROMOTED Whickham Glebe have found it tough going in the First Division as their result showed against Nine Pins at Swalwell.
The Glebe were indebted to an unbeaten 28 from Andrew Robinson as they reached only 78-9 with Mal Mulany and Shouvic Bannergee both claiming three wickets.
Veteran opener Tommy Nichols then hit 37 to steer Nine Pins to their six wickets win.
Nine Pins then piled up 137-4 against Ryton with man of the match Barry Dews hitting an unbeaten 78 on their way to a 37 runs success.
Aidan House only managed 61-8 against Old Record players who went on to secure a seven wickets win.
Despite an excellent spell of 5-20 from just three overs, Alan Raffell was unable to help Bar BHT to victory over Monkseaton Saints in Division Two.
Thanks to Craig Faulkner (42) and Karl Taylor (32) the Saints managed to reach 83-7 on their way to overhauling the BHT knock of 80-1.
In Division Four, Mulligan struck 59 not out for British Airways in their 89-5 to see them to victory over Park House.
Whitley Bay hit 121-7 with Chris Shaw (39) as they beat St.Teresa's 64-7.
An unbeaten 64 from Cookson's Andy Carr saw them beat Paddlers who made 114-3 with Nick Veals top scoring with 40 and closely followed by David Barker who was 34 not out.
In the Knockout Cup, The Aletaster saw off Humshaugh by six wickets and Adders 76-8, thanked A Brice 51 not out for their 15 runs win over the Travellers.
