Middleton St George still boast a 100 per cent record in Division A following their 49 runs victory at Ingleton, writes Malcolm Pratt.
Batting first Middleton ended with 151 for five on top which included an unbeaten 50 by Bainbridge who batted throughout. His opening partner Binks contributed 41 before Ingleton were restricted to 102 including 34 by Mellor.
Simon Rogers took four wickets for 32 runs, Hussein three for 18 and McKenna three for 43 as Ingleton were all out for 102.
Barton are second 20 points behind Middleton St George. They won for the fifth time in six outings when they hosted Haughton who replied with 162 for three after Barton had made 261 for the loss of one wicket. Lockey ended unbeaten on 107 and Miller scored 96.
McGuire produced a half-century when he opened for Haughton and Wilkinson finished 39 not out.
Runs were scarce when Witton-le-Wear hosted Raby Castle and managed only 70 for seven from 27 overs. Top scorer was Peter Chrisp with three boundaries in 22 and for Raby Castle David Scaise captured five wickets for 41 runs in 14 overs, five of which were maidens.
Responding Raby Castle lost an early wicket, but then romped to a nine wickets victory in just 11 overs as Mike Wilson ended unbeaten on 51 with two sixes and six fours.
Heighington overtook the Catterick Village total of 111 all out with half their wickets remaining. Olney opened with 45 and Smith was 37 not out in a total of 114 for five.
When they made first use of the wicket Catterick Village struggled against the bowling of Beaumont who returned the magnificent analysis of eight for 44. Galey top scored with 35 but the Catterick total of 111 never looked sufficient.
After making a respectable 167 for four Cockerton lost by four wickets to Barningham whose match-winner with the bat was Walker with an unbeaten 86. Letheridge claimed three wickets for 53 runs and when Cockerton batted first he also starred with the bat ending 49 not out. Farrow was the leading runmaker with 84 for Cockerton.
Krishnan (85) and Edwards (45) propelled Rockliffe Park to 200 for nine against Cliffe for whom Flunder took four wickets for 51 runs.
Cliffe were all out for 99 which would have been a good deal less but for 30 not out by Carrick who went in at number ten. Edwards had a good day with the ball for Rockliffe Park returning figures of four for 26.
In Division B the game between Heighington and Brompton-on-Swale was restricted to 25 overs per side because of the inclement weather.
Heighington batting first made 127 in 23 overs with John Overfield hitting a couple of sixes and three fours in a top scoring 46. Barry Leybourne was in good form with the ball for Brompton and from 11.4 overs he returned five for 52 while Felstead gave admirable support with four for 29 from his 5.2 overs.
In reply Brompton managed only 98 leaving Heighington winners by nine runs. Barry Leybourne top scored with 21 including four fours when he went in at number ten while for Heighington Richard Jameson claimed five wickets for 32 runs in 13 overs and John Overfield took three for 32 from the seven overs he bowled.
East Cowton made a winning 173 for five in their home game with Trimdon CCA. Raw opened with 34 and Tucker ended unbeaten on 58 before Trimdon were all out for 118, Whitfield took four wickets for 45 runs and Copeland three for 16.
Aldbrough St John managed 234 for four before declaring at home to Rockliffe Park. Priestley (89), Jones (35) and Walford (46) led the runs chase. Rockliffe Park replying were all out for only 71 as Sillars captured six wickets for a mere 12 runs.
Eryholme remain joint top of the table with Spennithorne and Harmby. Middleton Tyas conceded their game at Eryholme while Spennithorne's match at Dales and the picture between Middleton in Teesdale and Lands were both cancelled because grounds were unfit.
In Division C Aldbrough St John won a high scoring game against Cliffe. Walton with an unbeaten 84 led Cliffe to 169 for seven with three of the wickets following to Bickerman for 44 runs. Aldbrough made a winning reply losing six wickets as Lewis finished unbeaten on 94.
After Cockerton totalled 119 Barningham won losing six wickets and Barton overtook the Haughton score of 113 for six with eight wickets remaining. Dobison contributed 65 for Haughton while in the Barton attack Walsh had five for 49.
Spennymoor had 16 runs in hand of Lands after posting 170 for nine and restricting their opponents to 154 for nine which included 64 by Talbot. Tookey took five for 74 in the Spennymoor bowling line-up.
Trimdon Colliery and Deaf Hill totalled 138 with Owens scoring55 and Luke 30 not out. Stewart and Jackson shared seven wickets for Raby Castle who replied with 95 including 43 by Bywalker. Owens captured six wickets for 53 runs and Craggs three for ten for Trimdon.
Trimdon CCA managed only 91 which included 91 by Severn. Brack had six for 34 for King James, who when they made first use of the wicket ended with 165 for four on top. Davidson, Orton and Hurle all made at least 30 runs.
