Durham Senior League: There is no question about where the match of the day should be this afternoon. Second-placed Burnmoor take on current champions Horden and this game will be viewed with particular interest by leaders Hetton Lyons.

Last Saturday Burnmoor suffered a six-wicket defeat that took Hetton Lyons to the top. This was a first home defeat in the league that Burnmoor had suffered for four years.

They returned to winning ways though on Monday with an emphatic win and will be looking to continue this form today.

Professional Mark Benfield looks full of runs at present. His unbeaten 98 on Monday gives him 341 runs to date and another major contribution from the South African would pose problems for Horden.

However, Horden remain the only unbeaten side in the league and their consistency has been their hallmark in recent years.

They welcome back Stephen McCoy who joins a full strength squad. For Burnmoor Mark Robson misses the game and is replaced by Graham Stoker.

Hetton Lyons will begin favourites at Durham City. Although City have won twice to date they could face problems against an in form Gerry Stridon. He is leading run-maker at present, currently averaging 104 and Durham must stifle his scoring to have a chance.

Paul Price and Nick Howe are both unavailable for City and Phil Hands and Tom Ellis step in. The Lyons expect Tom Nixon to return to their side that currently hold a six-point lead at the top.

Boldon professional Orlanzo Jackson has made a useful start and his bowling could pose a threat for South Hetton. Boldon make just one change with Jamie Priestley resuming for Oliver Douthwaite.

Seaham Harbour, who had an encouraging Bank Holiday double, travel to Eppleton.

Neil Gustard is not available and Alan Cook Jnr returns to the Seconds with Stephen Sennett and Paul Snaith resuming.

Eppleton expect Jim Daley to be available after missing Monday's match. The opening will travel from London and joins Omar Akhtar who plays against his former club.

South Shields entertain neighbours Whitburn. Both suffered heavy defeats on Monday and will be looking to regain their confidence. Whitburn go into the match unchanged and looking for a big score from professional Ashley Thorpe. The Australian has promised much but has managed just two scores over 50 to date.

Shields will have skipper John Dunn returning and Chris Nichol is replaced by Gregg Marshall.

Marsden would hope to beat Felling, who picked up their first victory on Monday.

The Marsden batting looked uncertain at Seaham Harbour, but the selectors have given a vote of confidence by naming an unchanged XI.
