Durham Coast League: Hylton play their first game of the season on home soil today. So far they have had to fulfill their fixtures on opponents' grounds because work on improving the drainage at the Billy Hardy Centre was not completed.

"It has been far from ideal and obviously we are just pleased to be back home again," said stalwart Owen Williamson.

Hylton, who were among the pre-season favourites for the championship, have managed just one win in five attempts but they have a game in hand on most sides and with a double programme this weekend have the opportunity to make significant strides up the table.

But they will need to be at their best this afternoon when Silksworth are visitors. Last week Silksworth crushed Bill Quay who went into the game out in front.

Now, Silksworth and Bill Quay share pole positions. Hylton welcome the return of Lee Jackson and Sean Gleeson and anticipate fielding the same XI at Boldon CA tomorrow.

Bill Quay also show one alteration as they attempt to recover from a batting collapse last Saturday. David Orridge is named for Chris Little for the double at Dawdon and at home to Murton, who have moved up into third place just a couple of points adrift of the leading pair.

Murton, who reached the semi-finals of the league's D and P Andrew Dixon Cup in midweek, are unchanged hoping for more of the same from professional Calvin Stephenson who is in scintillating form especially with the bat.

Today Murton are at home to bottom of the table Peterlee who are without captain Gary Unitt. He returns though for tomorrow's home fixture with Ryhope.

Easington, whose professional David Kennedy is among the runs, makes three alterations to their line-up for the visit to Ryhope and at home to neighbours Castle Eden. Paul Neasham, Russell Tarn and Peter Booth all line up, but Michael Massey is out because of work commitments.

After today's game at Hylton, Silksworth have Dawdon as visitors. Philip Smailes takes over from Paul Bradford in the Silksworth line-up.

Seaham Park are unchanged ahead of their two matches with Boldon CA and at Houghton while Boldon bring in talented youngster Gary Frater for Michael Shepherd who reverts to the second team.
