A THEATRE group is launching a recruitment drive for its next musical.
CBS Amateur Players, in Consett, is looking for new members, aged over 16.
Group chairman Alan Graham said: "This is part of our campaign to introduce some new people to the group.
"We welcome people with a variety of talents, on and off stage, to come along and see what we do and what the group can offer them."
The group, which has been staging shows since 1946, will also be sending leaflets out to some of Consett's new housing estates in an effort to generate more interest.
Its annual production next year will be Me and My Girl, to be performed in May.
It follows the success of this year's show, the musical Annie.
Mr Graham said: "The children were fabulous.
"They worked hard to achieve their success, and the people who came to the show were overawed at the children's ability and enthusiasm.
"It was great to see the kids and adults working together on this fantastic production. It was one of our most successful shows."
The group is holding an open evening for new members in St Patrick's Church Hall, Consett, on Friday, June 21, at 7.30pm.
