VILLAGERS tucked into tasty treats to celebrate World Environment Day.
West Rainton Green Group held an event in the Jubilee Hall, West Rainton, near Durham, on Saturday.
Residents tried out Fairtrade products such as chocolate, tea and coffee. For youngsters, there was a junk modelling workshop and a quiz trail.
Visitors could also buy organic vegetables and environmentally-friendly hessian shopping bags.
Various agencies such as Durham County Council and Friends of the Earth were on hand to give advice on issues such as recycling and looking after paths and hedgerows.
The event was sponsored by the Co-op, Teesdale and Durham Energy Advice, Caf Direct, The Day Chocolate Company, Green and Blacks, and Percol Fairtrade coffee.
