WET weather failed to dampen a competitive get-together for some of the North-East's leading female golfers.
Almost 200 players from clubs across the region took part in Mount Oswald Golf Club's ladies captain's charity open tournament.
The Macmillan Nurses fund is the traditional beneficiary of the event, now in its ninth year.
This year's captain, Heidi Gritzan, said early showers were soon forgotten and the competitive instincts of the women took over once they were out on the course, on the outskirts of Durham.
She said: "Although it is a charity event, all the players have a competitive streak and it was a closely-fought competition."
Following their four-ball rounds, each pair came in to enjoy the hospitality at the Mount Oswald clubhouse, where Ms Gritzan and course owner Clive McKeag performed the presentations.
The event raised £1,200 for Macmillan.
Ms Gritzan said the club needed new female members. To join, call 0191-386 7527.
