A NORTH Yorkshire cheesemaker has benefited from the takeover of Safeway by Wm Morrison.
Shepherds Purse, based in Thirsk, now supplies two of its award-winning cheeses to Morrisons and some Safeway stores across Yorkshire and the North-East.
Its best-selling Yorkshire Blue, made from cow's milk and Yorkshire Feta, the company's ewe's milk cheese, will now be available at the supermarkets.
Shepherds Purse Cheeses is the only authorised producer of Feta cheese - which ordinarily comes from Greece - in the UK.
