THE deadline for the European elections is just two days away.
Voters are advised that they should post their completed ballot papers today so that votes for local and European Parliamentary elections reach local authorities by the deadline of 10pm on Thursday.
For those unable to post their ballot papers, they can be taken to local authority assistance and delivery points which will be open until 10pm on Thursday.
Trained electoral staff will be accepting completed ballot papers delivered by hand, and will be giving advice.
Voters need to mark a cross against their choice on the ballot paper and seal in the envelope provided, then complete the declaration of identity form and get it signed by a witness before posting their ballot paper.
If an elector loses or spoils their paper they can get a replacement. The deadline to apply for a replacement paper is 9pm in person on Thursday.
Kate Sullivan, deputy policy director at the Electoral Commission, said: "Electors must return their ballot papers in plenty of time if their vote is to be counted. Ballots can be delivered in person up to the close of poll on June 10."
Voters with questions can contact the Electoral Commission's helpline on 0800 3280280 or log onto its website at www.aboutmyvote. co.uk
