TWO border collies are in need of a new home within the next two weeks, before their owner moves house.
Kim is nine and Katie is eight and although they have been together since Katie was a puppy, they can be rehomed separately. However, Pauline Wilson, from the National Animal Sanctuary Support League (NASSL), would like to see them remain together.
"They are lovely dogs," she said. "Their owner has a change in circumstances and is really reluctant to part with them, but unfortunately she is moving somewhere where she cannot take the dogs.
"Katy is more playful and Kim is more laid back, but they are lovely and have been well looked after. It would be fantastic if they could stay together."
Although the collies are older animals, Mrs Wilson insists they still have a lot to offer.
"Border collies often live to be 14 or 15, so these are not old, and they are both very fit and healthy. They have been family pets, are used to children and are very nice natured.
"They have been well looked after, but just because of a change in circumstances they need a new home."
People wanting to adopt the animals must do so before Friday, June 18.
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Mrs Wilson at NASSL on (01325) 321855 or 07748 268822.
