cyclists young and old are encouraged to get out and about in National Bike Week which starts on Saturday.
A ride from Lingfield Countryside Centre, Coulby Newham, sets off at 10am on Saturday, while guided rides start from Middlesbrough Cycle Centre, in Gilkes Street, on Tuesday and Thursday from 2pm to 3.30pm.
Riders can pick up free goodies, including water bottles, gloves and inner tubes.
Next Friday, June 18, early riders can recharge their batteries at the cycle centre or outside the town hall. Middlesbrough Council is providing free cereal and fruit from 7.30am to 10am.
The centre is one of many initiatives set up by Middlesbrough Environment City and is the only secure bike park facility in the North- East.
Joe Pearce, Middlesbrough Cycle Centre co-ordinator, said: "National Bike Week is the perfect opportunity for cyclists to get on their bikes and enjoy a safe, leisurely ride around Middlesbrough. They can also save money on cycling accessories by completing a guided ride and taking advantage of the numerous free prizes available at the end of it."
