SPORTS company JJB has agreed a deal to create a multi-million pound Soccerdome in the North-East.
The facility will be established on a ten-acre site at Royal Quays, in North Shields, North Tyneside, and will include 11 indoor sports pitches, a health centre and a 15,000sq ft sports store.
JJB had previously announced plans to develop a £6m Soccerdome on the Cummins Engines factory site, in Darlington.
But the scheme collapsed after borough council chiefs insisted that they would not recommend planning permission for a large retail element.
The site has since been earmarked for another leisure development, although the details are being kept under wraps
