WORK has begun on refurbishing the second of Vimac Leisure's two nightclubs in Durham City.
The £1m refurbishment programme has seen DH-1 nightclub refitted. Now work has started on Vimac's second club, Caf Rock, a venue popular with students.
Caf Rock will also be given a new name, which will be announced once the makeover is complete.
During refurbishment, the club will remain open with one floor being refitted at a time.
Caf Rock general manager Jaclyn Newton said: "Caf Rock has a wide following and we were conscious that by closing the nightclub our customers would be without their preferred club for a number of weeks.
"By working with a floor at a time, I am pleased to say that it is nightclubbing as usual."
The refurbishment of the venue will take 12 weeks and will culminate in a club re-launch evening for the people of Durham.
