PUBLIC toilets in east Cleveland look set to get a £200,000 face-lift in the next three years.
Area environment committees will soon be helping decide where to spend the investment.
It is hoped to reopen and refurbish the toilets in Marske Stray, which have been closed for some time.
Other issues to be discussed include the future of the Northgate toilets, Guisborough, the toilets at Marske roundabout and the Saltburn cemetery and King George V playing fields at Guisborough.
Members will be asked to help create a priority refurbishment programme, with the help of a report on the condition of all the public conveniences and where the money needs to be spent. The report has recommended that some toilets could be rebuilt, refurbished or demolished.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's cabinet member for environmental improvement Councillor Bob Stanway said: "This is an indication of the area committees' ability to be able to improve their own area. We recognise the need to have these facilities for both tourists and residents."
