A FOREIGN student yesterday denied causing a motorist's death in a car crash.
Abdel Salook pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Leslie Smyles, 43, in a crash on Newcastle's Tyne Bridge in October last year.
Mr Smyles was freed from his Peugeot and taken to the city's general hospital with head and internal injuries but died two days later.
Mr Salook, a 24-year-old Israeli, was studying at Sunderland University at the time of the crash but has since finished his course.
Appearing at Newcastle Crown Court, he denied driving his Nissan Almera dangerously and will be tried by a jury on August 18.
Mr Salook, of St Mark's Road, Sunderland, was granted conditional bail.
