STAFF at a Sedgefield salon held an evening to showcase new beauty treatments and raise money for a worthy cause at the same time.
More than 200 people attended the event in Sedgefield Parish Hall this week.
Staff at the village's Evolution Hair and Beauty salon were on hand to demonstrate the treatments, which included non-surgical facelifts, hair extensions and tanning products.
People who took part were asked to make donations and a number of businesses in the village donated prizes for a raffle.
Organisers are hoping to have raised about £1,500 from the evening, which will be donated to the North Eastern Leukaemia Research Fund.
The fund is based at the RVI hospital in Newcastle, where several children from the village with leukaemia receive their treatment.
Sarahjane Green, who owns the salon jointly with her husband, Darren Thacker, said she hoped it would become an annual event.
Se said: "We've got lots of new treatments and we wanted to do an event for the community as well. It was an excellent event and there was a great turnout so we're hoping to do it every year.
