YOUNGSTERS are being invited to take part in the annual Search for a Star competition, organised by Corus.
The event, based on television's Pop Idol format, is open to youngsters from five to 16, who are part of the family of an employee of Corus or a contract company working on the Teesside site.
Each winner of the two age groups, five to 11-year-olds and 12 to 16-years-olds, will receive £100 gift vouchers. They will also make a live appearance at the Teesside Steel Family Gala, held at Redcar Rugby Club on Sunday, July 4.
Second and third place will receive vouchers of £50 and £25.
The competition is on Wednesday, June 26 at 6.30pm at the Corus Sports and Social Centre, South Avenue, Dormanstown.
Everyone is welcome to go and see the event, which will be hosted by local radio presenter Paul "Goffy" Gough.
