CRICKET club officials say they are delighted by the news that some of the game's biggest names are coming to the region for a fundraising match.
The world-famous Lashings XI is coming to Malton and Old Malton Cricket Club, North Yorkshire, on June 20.
The team is led by Richie Richardson and could also feature Sherwin Campbell, Stuart Williams, Junior Murray, Franklyn Rose, Vasbert Drakes and Jimmy Adams.
Shahid Afridi, who hit the fastest ever one-day century seven years ago, may also be there. Money raised will be used to buy all-weather nets and a bowling machine, which will assist the club's junior cricket development.
Denis Johnson, club chairman, said: "We're delighted that a lot of big names will be coming here."
The club hopes to attract about 3,000 people to the ground in Old Malton Road, Malton.
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions, and are available from Hoppers of Malton, Will's Bar, and Malton News, or for £6 at the gate.
