MORE than 60 representatives of organisations from South Bank to Loftus attended an event to honour volunteers in the area.
The annual awards ceremony, which acknowledged the tremendous contribution by volunteers of all ages throughout east Cleveland, was held during National Volunteers Week at the Spa in Saltburn, and organised by the Redcar and Cleveland Voluntary Development Agency.
* Claire Henderson, from South Bank Women's Centre, won the Youth Volunteer Award 2004;
* Valerie Maynard, from Normanby Community Forum won the Adult Volunteer Award 2004;
* Ted McNicholls, from the Brotton Lunch Club, won the Outstanding Achievement Award 2004
* George Punshon, from South Bank, won the Lifetime Achievement Award 2004 in recognition of more than 30 years volunteering, commitment and dedication.
More than 120 individuals and groups also received certificates of achievement.
