CYCLISTS are being offered a chance to ensure their bikes are safe at two events next week.
Dr Bike surgeries, which have been arranged as part of National Bike Week, will be held at Hartlepool's Asda store and the University Hospital of Hartlepool, from 10am to 2pm, on June 17 and 18.
Cyclists have been invited to attend either event where bike MoTs and security post-coding will be available.
There will also be a chance to sign up to a log book scheme, operated by Hartlepool Borough Council and the police.
Details of bikes are kept on a computer database which makes it easier to reunite them with their owners if they are stolen and recovered.
The surgeries are just two local events taking place to mark National Bike Week, which runs from June 12 to 20.
