WHEN cat Poppy went missing, owner Sandy Ward thought her pet had used up all of its nine lives.
But the cat turned up six weeks later, after a 300-mile trip from Gateshead to Glasgow and back.
Ms Ward had given up hope of finding three-year-old Poppy alive after she disappeared last month.
She said: "I let her out on a Friday night and, as usual, I tried to call her in before I went to bed. If she doesn't come in, I know she'll always turn up at six o'clock the next morning to be fed, but this time she didn't show up.
"Then, out of the blue, six weeks later, I got a call from a lady saying Poppy had turned up at her house.
"I couldn't believe it. I was desperate to collect her so I asked for the address, only to find out she was 150 miles away in Glasgow."
Poppy had been taken in by Nicol and Nora Morrison, whose neighbour found the cat in her garden in Bearsden, Glasgow.
Ms Ward, 40, of Low Fell, Gateshead, said: "No one knows how Poppy got to Glasgow, but she'd obviously been well looked after. She doesn't seem any worse for wear after her little adventure."
