SIXTH form students will have an hour-long live link to scuba divers in Australia's Barrier Reef in a video conferencing link-up this week.
The secrets of the sea will be unlocked on Wednesday when A-level biology students at Stockton Sixth Form College will talk to the divers.
The session will take place from an educational aquarium based at the reef.
Joyce Clarke, head of biology at the college, said: "This is technology at its best as a tool for learning.
"Our students will no doubt have a mass of questions they will be putting forward and they will be getting on-the-spot answers.
"The divers wear special helmets so they can carry on having conversations under- water via the video conferencing link, and from what I can gather, there will be a little time spent in a shark pool."
