A CHARITY that rehomes retired greyhounds is gearing up for an appearance at an agricultural show.
The North Yorkshire branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust will have a display stand at the North Yorkshire County Show, at South Otterington, on Sunday.
The charity's volunteers will be there with a group of retired racing greyhounds which need new homes.
Charity spokeswoman Karen Fraser said: "Despite popular misconceptions, retired greyhounds do make wonderful pets. The county show will be a great opportunity for people to meet the dogs and learn how sweet natured and placid they really are."
The trust launched its Seeing is Believing campaign, earlier this year, which aims to show that greyhounds are gentle and loving dogs and can be kept as family pets.
