POLICE in north Durham have appealed for information after two incidents of indecent exposure.
Two teenage girls were walking on an area known as Oakey's field, near to the Good Street estate, in Stanley, at 12.15pm on Friday, when they heard a whistle.
They turned to see a man emerge from the bushes and perform a sex act.
At 3.15pm the same day, a teenage girl was on her way home from school when she was confronted by a man standing close to the bushes. He was naked except for a dark-coloured bowler hat .
PC Paul Gray said: "These incidents took place only about 200 yards from Tanfield Comprehensive School, at times when youngsters were leaving the premises.
"In both cases the pupils were attracted by a man whistling, and although the descriptions the victims have given vary, it is possible the same man was involved in both."
The man in the first incident is described as about 25 years, 5ft 6in, chubby, with short, dark hair. He was wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt and dark-coloured baseball cap.
The man in the second incident was described as tanned, about 40, 6ft with a fat stomach.
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Gray or PC Jamie Bell on (01207) 232144.
