A WIDE range of support services for young people have been brought together under one roof with the opening of a youth centre.
The centre, in Station Bridge, Harrogate, was originally the brainchild of the town's Rossett Youth Centre.
Its members wanted to create a place for young people to relax in a safe environment with a personal advisor or youth worker on hand.
They wanted it to demystify the process of finding out what services are available, while having the feel of a cafe-style meeting place.
Centre manager Ann O'Connell said: "Currently, we are offering advice, information, guidance and support on a wide range of issues through Careers Guidance Services, the Youth Enquiry Service, employment and training advice, and an evening and weekend drop-in service for young people.
"We plan to extend this in the coming months and have received interest from the Harrogate Alcohol and Drugs Agency, the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service and Young Carers."
The project is a joint effort between Harrogate District Safer Communities Partnership, North Yorkshire County Council, Connexions York and North Yorkshire, and Guidance Services.
