A FATHER-of-one who went on a drunken rampage in a stolen car before crashing into the wall of a house has been jailed.
Keith O'Donnell was more than twice the legal drink-drive limit when he took the Ford Fiesta and drove at speeds of 65mph through Middlesbrough.
The 19-year-old, who had two passengers in the car with him, was chased by a police vehicle but he reversed into it and made a get-away.
Teesside Crown Court heard O'Donnell then overtook several other cars and drove along the wrong side of the carriageway before losing control and crashing into a wall at The Croft, Marton.
O'Donnell ran away from the vehicle but was apprehended on a roof by police officers and arrested, after the incident on March 6.
He had earlier pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking, driving whilst disqualified, no insurance and driving over the legal limit.
The court heard the teenager had been disqualified from driving for three years in July 9 last year after he was convicted of aggravated vehicle taking.
John Gillette, for O'Donnell, said his client had been offered a job with an uncle, in Cardiff, and had secured a home in Middlesbrough for his partner and daughter.
Mr Gillette said: "He had had an enormous amount to drink. He did not go out willfully to offend, the offence came to him."
Jailing O'Donnell, of Aubrey Street, Middlesbrough for 22 months Mr Recorder Myerson said: "It seems you have not begun to grow up. You have become a danger to yourself and everyone about you."
