A TEAM of junior swimmers are preparing to make a splash in national championships this weekend.
The boys mixed relay squad from St Margaret's Church of England Primary School, Neville's Cross, will travel to Sheffield, where they will compete with youngsters from all over the country at Ponds Forge Olympic Pool on Saturday.
The team qualified in divisional heats for Bakula National Swimming on June 5.
Headteacher Dianne Mowbray said: "We are all extremely proud of their achievement and we wish them all good luck for Saturday."
Team manager and PE coordinator Becky Holmes will join the boys on their visit to South Yorkshire.
The squad includes captain Bradley Kelly, Calum Gibson, who will do butterfly, James Bramley, the backstroke, James Irvine, freestyle and Sam Gourlay, breaststroke.
