A TEAM of health staff who help patients get equipment to cope with their illnesses has won an award.
The NHS home equipment loan department, in Spennymoor, has been presented with Durham and Chester-le-Street Primary Care Trust's first primary care staff award.
The efforts of maintenance craftsman Scott Muxworthy and stores liaison officer Kevin Lincoln were highlighted because of their efforts to help a terminally ill patient.
Both received certificates, a glass trophy and £250 of high street vouchers by trust chairwoman Lady Ann Calman.
Senior back care advisor Barbara Wilson nominated the pair.
The award scheme, which includes four quarterly prizes and a main annual honour, recognises individuals in primary care who make a very special contribution to their work.
The public can nominated health staff by using forms and prepaid envelopes available at GP surgeries, clinics and health centres in Durham and Chester-le-Street, or by telephoning Theresa Huddart on 0191-301 1481.
