THE head of an transport firm that failed with total debts estimated at about £107,000 has given an undertaking not to play any part in company management for six years.
Steven John Garrett, of Windsor Terrace, Murton, near Seaham, gave the undertaking in respect of his conduct as a director of Greenrobin Limited, which was based in the Philadelphia Complex, near Houghton-le-Spring.
The company was placed into liquidation on June 14, 2002, with estimated debts of £107,124.
The Insolvency Service, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, listed matters of unfit conduct that Mr Garrett did not dispute. These included failing to ensure that Greenrobin Limited delivered adequate accounting records to the liquidator.
Mr Garrett, who left Greenrobin in October 2001, also agreed he had failed to discharge his duties as sole director. This included leaving several signed blank cheques and the company chequebook for use by the company's employees.
He also failed to take part in the negotiations surrounding the sale of the company's assets.
