AMATEUR radio clubs from around the region are preparing to take up residence at various museums this weekend as part of an international event.
Clubs from the UK, America, India, Canada, Sweden and South Africa are taking part in International Museums Weekend.
The intention is to set up amateur radio special event stations at as many museums as possible. The event has been running since 2002 and is growing in popularity every year.
Eden Camp, near Malton, North Yorkshire, a former Second World War prisoner-of-war camp, will play host to Peterlee Radio Club, from County Durham, which will be broadcasting from Hut 12 under the call sign GB2POW.
The museum already boasts a collection of wartime radio equipment in its media room, which is Hut 18.
Museum archivist Nick Hill said: "We have got a lot of examples of wireless equipment and we get a lot of visitors in to look at the old stuff.
"It will be interesting for visitors to see how big and cumbersome the old equipment is compared with the newer stuff that the clubs are using these days."
