COUNTY Durham groups that cater for older people have been invited to a free performance of traditional Russian music.
Musicians from County Durham's twin city of Kostroma are to perform at the Gala Theatre, Durham City, for an invited audience on Friday, July 2.
The 90-minute show will feature Makhonia, a five-piece accordion ensemble who play traditional music and the Venets, who perform traditional folk music and dance.
Organisations wanting to attend the performance, which starts at 10am, can contact Karen Smith at Durham County Council's International Relations Office on 0191-383 3358 to obtain tickets.
The groups are also performing in St. Mary's Church, Gainford, at 7.30pm on June 29, and will be giving performances in schools in Derwentside and Durham City.
