A FESTIVAL of fashion was held at Ripon Racecourse yesterday for the annual Ladies Day event.
This year, the event was sponsored by Debenhams. The department store held a series of fashion shows in a marquee near the winner's enclosure.
Two prizes were handed out - one to the best dressed lady and the other to the wearer of the best hat.
The best dressed lady and her partner won a VIP day out at the races, including complimentary club stand tickets, and a three-course champagne lunch in the course's gourmet restaurant. In addition, there was a cosmetics goody bag from Debenhams.
The winner of the best hat competition won a £250 shopping spree in Debenhams.
Clerk of the course James Hutchinson said: "Ripon is known as Yorkshire's Garden Racecourse and is one of the most attractive courses in the country.
"On Ladies Day it is even more colourful as it is a chance for many of our guests to indulge in luxury and show off their fashion flair and favourite outfits."
