A 600-year-old priory was awash with mini-replicas of churches and cathedrals yesterday as school pupils saw their handiwork go on display.
More than 40 of the models, which are made from paper, wood and plastic, have been created by youngsters aged 11 and 12 from Stokesley School as part of a world religions project.
The school was overwhelmed by their creative output so English Heritage stepped in to give the youngsters space to exhibit their work. The impromptu exhibition is on show at Mount Grace Priory, near Osmotherley, North Yorkshire.
Head custodian Becky Wright said: "Some of the models are absolutely fabulous. Visitors get a bit of a shock when they walk through the priory manor house to see scores of replica churches, but the feedback has been wonderful.
