PUPILS at an east Durham school will be learning about energy and its uses today.
Children at Deaneside Junior School, Seaham, are being visited by staff from energy supplier npower.
Gary Doig, the company's education development officer, said: "npower has hundreds of employees and thousands of customers in this area, so it's important to us to invest our time and energy in what's important to them.
"Fun is an important element in learning, and the npower Power Day is packed full of great activities for schoolchildren to enjoy while learning about some very important topics at the same time."
The event is part of the school's Education Action Zone (EAZ) activities.
The EAZ aims to support schools in raising attainment in literacy and attendance figures.
